Aspen is an approximately 6 year old English Pointer who weighs around 50 pounds. She has done well with other dogs and lives with a large (and quirky) neutered male dog in her foster home. Aspen enjoys cuddling with her 8 year old human foster brother while watching a movie, and accepts pets from gentle neighbor kids. She can be a little shy when meeting people. She currently has 3 kitty siblings in her foster home but is a bit too interested in them to be considered cat-safe at present time. Aspen absolutely loves being out in the yard with you, patrolling and laying in the grass. She is enthusiastic about going for walks - especially if you let her stop to read the "doggie newspaper" at fire hydrants, etc. Her leash manners are pretty good, but she will pull if she is on a scent or right when you start. Aspen is house trained, as long as she gets regular potty breaks (she can go just fine overnight) and some exercise a couple times a day she does very well in the home. She enjoys a large stuffed toy or a No-Hide chew when she needs something to do. Aspen will tolerate being in a crate and settles pretty quickly, though she isn't excited to go in because she'd rather just lay on the couch. A gentle hand when training and while getting to know Aspen is important - she's a sweet girl and a great snuggler when she trusts you. Her silly side comes out when she relaxes, and you'll find her sleeping sprawled out in funny positions, tossing a ball to herself, or rolling in the grass with a goofy grin on her face.
