***I qualify for the Senior Dog Program***

Hi, I'm Trax. I have had quite a road making it here to GPPR due to people's assumptions about age. Well, I am so happy (seriously, my tail is wagging) to say I made it to my foster mom's and I am eager to find a forever family. The vet believes I am close to 10 years old, but nothing on any vet report would give that away! Ten is the new five!!! I am energetic, love to run and play and can wear out my 17 month old foster sister (English Pointer) every single time. In fact, I am helping to show her the ropes. She is still a little weak in following directions, so I let her follow my lead on how to sit, come here, stop and wait. I was trained very well early on. Now, as with anyone a bit older you have to speak up a bit so I can hear you when I get a little ways away, if you do I will respond immediately. It also helps if you clap! I can hear it and I love applause...makes me put on my goofy face. I enjoy all animals including my 3 foster dog siblings, cat and kittens (in fact Beezie and her
8 week old kitty Vanilla come talk to me while I am in the barn helping with
chores) horses and mini donkeys! I am great off leash and keep a close watch on foster mom...she can get away if I don't watch her. I do love my people and I am not very happy alone for long periods of time, I want a companion in my retirement. I also do not do well for long in a kennel (the car is the
exception) and definitely must have a hard sided kennel. I am house trained and polite, a true gentleman I hear. I would love to meet anyone who is looking for a laid back guy who likes to play, snuggle with me and my stuffed animals and enjoy the future with me.
