Hi!
My name is Bo which is short for Bogart because I am a real gentleman and as handsome as an old-fashioned movie star. I was picked up as a stray, though, so I am still learning my new-to-me name! Even though I do not always recognize when I am being called by name, I am a very smart boy and respond well to whistles. I am liver and white with a very muscular build, but I am a real softy inside. I love to lean against the closest person I can find for some love and I am very tolerant of my little sister, Ellie...I even let her lay on top of me on the couch!
According to the shelter I was rescued from, I am seven, but some of the humans at GPPR think I am much younger than that (maybe four or five) because I am very playful especially now that I am comfortable. In fact, I am the only dog at our house who can outrun my foster sister Ellie (and she isn't even two yet!) I love to play fetch and play with chew toys-don't worry, I don't chew on anything else, though!
Not only do I have looks AND brains, I am the total package and have a great personality, too. I am good with kids of all ages, other dogs (I live with two females and an alpha male now), and I am also a great companion in the car and at home. In fact, I had a long journey to get to my foster family all the way from Nebraska to northwest Illinois. My foster mom and I drove three hours in a blizzard to get me home-and I slept almost the whole way!
My foster humans and GSPs love to hunt pheasants...they are going to take me to a game farm soon to see what I think! I have a docked tail and I love to chase birds in the yard so my mom and dad think I may already know what to do!
I am still working on my kennel manners, but after everything I have been through you can't blame me for hating to be locked up. Plus, I love people and other dogs, so I always feel like I am missing out! I have been through a lot, but I am not going to let that stop me from finding my forever home!
Thank you for letting me introduce myself-I hope we can meet in person soon!
-Bo
