Hey, there, my name is Daisy and here’s a little bit about me. I’m an extremely cute, smart and spunky 11 month old puppy! In fact, I’m sooo cute that even my foster mom and dad can’t stay mad at me when I’m being mischievous! My first home was good and my owner took really good care of me! However, being so young herself, she quickly realized that I needed a family that ideally has experience with sporting dogs and has time the time to spend with me so, that I can do all of the cool GSP things! So now here I am hanging out with my awesome foster mom and dad along with two GSP foster siblings waiting for the perfect furever family and in the very short time I’ve been with my foster family I’ve settled in and am learning what it means to be a part of a pack. Here’s what I’ve learned so far.

I’ve learned I love, love, love other dogs! I love to play tug of war and chase with my foster siblings, but I have also learned what it means to be part of a pack and have figured out the pecking order in my foster pack ( I am NOT the alpha)! So, I will do good with a family that has one or more other dogs. But since in my first home I was the center of the universe (which I have to say was awesome!), being the “Only Dog” is just fine for me as well!

I’m a little bit skittish with adults right now as I was pretty imprinted on my first owner and we were together almost 24/7. However, my foster mom and dad have been working with me on this and am doing much better! I love kids and am learning that I can love them without jumping on them. But darn it, I’m a puppy and I get can’t help but get excited about little people. So, I’m going to need some additional training when it comes to not getting too excited. But my foster mom says I’m really smart and a quick learner! I love to run around the yard and man am I fast!! Like lightning fast and I am a runner so, having a family that has a big yard with a fence that will allow me to stretch my legs out but not take off is a must! If you don’t have a big back yard but you’re part of an active family that can take me running, for long walks or to an off leash park I will be just as happy! Oh and did I mention, my foster mom and dad have a doggie door? I’m still figuring this out and am amazed how my foster siblings seem to disappear from inside the house and then reappear like magic outside. I don’t think it will take me long to get it figured out. When it comes to walking on a leash, I am ALL BUSINESS! I know where I want to go and I will pull you with me if needed so will need some patience and training so I don’t pull so much.

I am completely potty trained so will go to the door when I need to go. My foster family has these things on their door that jingle!! I’m learning that if I hit them they will let me out. So much so that I hit them whenever I want to go out even if I don’t have to go potty!! Boy, do I have them trained!!

As for the crate training, I’m ok in there for short time periods but still not a fan of being in there for a long time as my previous owner was home pretty much all of the time I rarely had to go in a crate. My foster family is working with me so that I understand it is a safe space not a punishment.

All in all, Daisy is a sweet but shy, energetic, Velcro dog. She will need a family that is patient with her and can work with her to not be so anxious about adults. But with a loving family who is willing to spend the time with her to work on her behavior and one able to provide lots of love, exercise and consistent training she will make a great addition to a family! In return, she just wants to make you happy and be loved. If this is what you are looking for Daisy’s, your gal!
