Hi Future Family - my name is Duke, and I am a 6-month-old German Shorthair Pointer puppy. When you first meet me, you will immediately learn that I am one of the most curious, playful and friendly puppies you have ever met. One of my most favorite things to do is play. I love toys especially the ones that I squeak, bounce, or are soft and furry. I am very play driven and love to just explore and play. You will have to keep an eye on me because I want to explore trash cans, houseplants, and counter tops. I want to be a good boy, but I am still a puppy and will need supervision and basic training to help me remember the rules.
I like to sleep in my kennel, and I will hang out in my kennel during my family's mealtime.
I really look up to my furry foster brother and I would probably do best in a home with another big brother or sister doggo to look up to and play with. When I am away from my foster brother, I will cry a little bit because I miss him so much.
Whenever I see people, big and small, I wag my tail and I am so excited to meet them. I still need to remember to not jump up on people so for that reason, it might be good to keep me away from babies and small children until I know to stay down and use my mouth in a gentle way.
When I am on a leash, I am so excited to explore that I will pull you but with some leash training and correction, I am otherwise a good walker. I am very fascinated by cars and bikes so if I see them going by, I might want to lunge toward them.
I am a housetrained puppy, but I had an accident when I was so excited to see my foster family that I couldn't hold it on my way outside.
