Uni came to GPPR due to her recent diagnosis of Diabetes. Don’t let this scare you! Uni has been so well cared for after her recent diagnosis; blood sugars have gotten under control and she is getting used to some new routines. Uni gets a shot of insulin after her morning meal and evening meal. Diabetes certainly doesn’t hold Uni back as she is a typica l GSP who loves to cuddle and play. Also, with managed diabetes, she will be able to live a long, active life.
It is also our understand that Uni was previously an outdoor dog, but since being surrendered to GPPR she has been experiencing all of the luxuries of indoor living. Uni does very well in her crate during the day as both Foster parents work full time. She loves the couch life or relaxing in her dog bed. She has been sleeping in her dog bed during nighttime but she will also gladly cuddle up with you in your bed if you’d allow her to. Uni also enjoys relaxing outside on the deck taking sun baths.
Uni plays well with her GSP foster sibling and does incredibly well around kids and new people. She is still learning that not all toddler toys are chew toys but she is getting there. Uni does know basic obedience, is very receptive to dropping things she shouldn’t have, and just overall wants to please everyone. J Uni is very food motivated and is learning that kitchen counters are not to be jumped on nor does she get to eat anything she wants.
Uni has such a sweet and calm demeanor and would make a wonderful addition to any family! Uni is being fostered in the Twin Cities Metro Area in Minnesota.
