Hello there! My name is Gus. I’m a pointer with a mission to find my forever home. I’ m a mature gentleman , but I still have lots of  boyish energy . The vet estimated I’m a little over 10 years old, but in my heart I feel like I’m 6. My foster mom can’t believe how energetic I am. I love to go outside and chase the squirrels and rabbits or just check the yard for signs of their presence. When Foster Mom claps her hands or whistles, I’m running for her. She always gives me treats and pets when I come inside.  Once inside I’m pretty respectful. I sit and wait my turn for a treat. I go into my crate without a fuss  and I’ve never barked while I’m there . I love my crate because it has a special soft bed for my old bones and I have my own bone to chew. I love toys, especially balls! My favorite thing in the whole world! Well, next to squirrels and rabbits….I am house trained. When I want to go out, I go and sit by the door. If you don’t notice me, I’ll make you notice me because I’ll try to climb in your lap so you know I’m there and I need to go out!   I walk well on a leash and I love to ride in cars.  I’m a very quiet dog. I only bark when I think you’re being unfair. Like when my Foster Mom goes  upstairs  with the other dogs and leaves me behind . I’m not a  fan of lots of stairs. I don’t bark for long.  Just a few “woofs” so she knows how wrong she is and then I lay down at the bottom of the stairs and wait for her. I get along well with the other dogs in the house, but I’ve never been tested around cats.  All in all, I would say I’m a very good boy looking for a loving home. I am neutered and up to date on my vaccinations. I do have a touch of arthritis in my legs, but it doesn’t stop me from running and playing with the other dogs. Did I say I love to snuggle and give kisses? Well, I do!  Just give me a chance to show you how much love my senior heart has to give.   Gus is located in Iowa.
