Lacey here! I'm just getting settled in my new foster home and so far I've had a lot of exciting new experiences. First, I got to come inside the house. The floors are slippery and the noises are scary, but I think I'm going to like being an inside dog. Foster mom has been teaching me to use the backyard for my potty breaks, and I'm starting to get the hang out that routine. I got a bath, which wasn't my favorite, but it made me smell so good and now I get lots more snuggles. Snuggles are the greatest! I get to sleep in the house now, and after one night of whining, I even get to sleep on the bed with my foster mom. I've been able to try lots of new foods. Some of them were given to me, and some of them (like that head of broccoli) I helped myself to! You see, I'd been very hungry for quite a while, so when I see an opportunity to steal food, I've learned to take it. My foster mom says counter surfing and grabbing food out of hands will not be acceptable in my forever home, so I should learn to quit it now. I visited a nice vet and he said I am very healthy for having been an outside dog without much attention. He told foster mom to help me gain at least 15 more pounds, and I think that sounds like an excellent plan. He also told me to come back next week for surgery, and that afterward I won't be having any more puppies. I like that plan. Without any pups to take care of, I can spend all of my time playing and getting attention from the humans. I like every human I meet and my favorite things to do are snuggle up on laps and give kisses. I can't wait to meet my new family to find out what kinds of snacks and comfy blankets they have at their house!
