Flash is a sweet, energetic, fun-loving pup who will steal your heart! He has been working SO HARD in his foster home on training. He is very eager to learn and loves treats, which doesn't hurt either. Flash knows the commands sit, come, shake, off and leave it. He loves toys and stuffed animals, but sometimes struggles to know which ones are his and which are the small humans’. After getting all his energy out he loves to crash on the couch for a good snooze.
Flash has been living with a female GSP, two adults, and three young children. He loves the kiddos, but he doesn’t always know his size/space, so you need to keep an eye so they don’t get knocked over. He is crate trained and mostly house trained. He loves food and while he has no food aggression, he will take any unattended human food and likes to surf counters.
Flash is working hard on jumping. He gets excited with new people but is learning that he has to stay “off.” He can also jump a 4-ft fence, so an acreage, 6 ft fence, or invisible fence will be a better option for him. He has lots of GSP puppy energy so he needs to have a large yard or space to run around in! He has been working on his leash skills too but gets distracted by birds and small animals. He loves to point everything and chase alllll the butterflies. When he arrived to his foster home he was afraid of car rides, but with lots of fun outings he has learned they can be fun!
Flash arrived to rescue with a limp. After consulting an awesome veterinary, radiology, and orthopedic surgeon team, we learned he has a minor congenital shoulder issue that is non-surgical and the outlook is great! Ongoing he will benefit from OTC glucosamine chondroitin. He has been off pain medication for weeks and has been doing fantastic. Now he just needs to find that forever family!
Flash is being fostered in Nebraska.
